Tabitha

My poor baby Tabitha is going through some challenges with her health. She has cancer on her lip, congestive heart disease, and kidney disease. She is 15 and so sweet! She is doing pretty well considering. Every day with her is a blessing! I wanted to paint a portrait of her, so here it is. First is the inspirational photo and next is the painting.

This is my painting of the photo. It is not meant to be an exact duplication of the photo but an interpretation filled with whimsy and love.

I use to not appreciate Henri Matisse- too many nudes. I now really like his later work with the bright colors and shapes. I decided to incorporate some off his style in an abstact flower painting I had in mind, and here is the result:
